Nan Bernstein Ratner

Talk Topic: First contact: How emerging science can inform working with young CWS and their families

Nan Bernstein Ratner is Distinguished University Professor, University of Maryland, College Park, USA. She is an ASHA Honors recipient and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Nan has published widely over the years in the areas of stuttering, fluency, and developmental psycholinguistics. With the late Oliver Bloodstein and Shelley Brundage, she is co-author of A Handbook on Stuttering. Her research and service have been recognized by awards from the National Stuttering Association, the International Fluency Association (now the WSCO) and multiple grants from the US National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation. With Brian MacWhinney, she is founder and co-director of the international FluencyBank initiative, to archive and curate open access research and teaching resources.
